Golden Temple
Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is the most important Sikh shrine, originally established in the 16th century and later rebuilt with marble, gold, and Indo-Islamic architectural elements. Surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar pool, it represents a strong connection between spirituality and ecology. Its surroundings include native trees, gardens, aquatic birds, and species adapted to Punjab's climate. The ecosystem blends religious heritage, water conservation, and urban biodiversity, creating a peaceful environment where nature, culture, and devotion coexist.

Golden Temple
The Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is the holiest shrine of Sikhism and was established in the late sixteenth century by Guru Arjan Dev. Its gold covered structure stands at the center of the sacred Amrit Sarovar pool, from which the city of Amritsar takes its name. The site's ecosystem blends urban and aquatic environments that support fish, occasional turtles, pigeons, sparrows, and seasonal migratory birds. Local flora includes ornamental trees, banyans, neem trees, palms, and carefully maintained gardens. This natural setting enhances local biodiversity, moderates the urban microclimate, and contributes to the spiritual atmosphere and ecological significance of the sacred complex.

Golden Temple
Golden Temple, also called Harmandir Sahib, is the most important shrine of Sikhism and one of India's most visited spiritual landmarks. Construction began in the 16th century under the guidance of Guru Ram Das and was expanded by Guru Arjan, who established the temple around the sacred Amrit Sarovar pool. Its architecture combines marble, gold plated surfaces, and Indo Islamic artistic influences, symbolizing equality, peace, and devotion. The ecosystem of the complex is centered around the holy water reservoir, which supports fish, aquatic organisms, and various urban bird species. The surrounding vegetation includes ornamental trees, palms, flowers, and shade-providing plants that enhance the peaceful atmosphere. Amritsar's subtropical environment supports birds such as pigeons and herons, along with small living organisms connected to the aquatic habitat. The community's efforts in water care, cleanliness, and preservation demonstrate a meaningful connection between spirituality, culture, and the natural environment.

Jallianwala Bagh
Jallianwala Bagh is a historic memorial garden that commemorates the massacre of April 13, 1919, when British troops fired on a peaceful gathering during India's independence movement. Today, it serves as a national place of remembrance with monuments, pathways, and preserved green areas. Its urban ecosystem includes ornamental trees, native plants, and local bird species that contribute to environmental balance. The site represents a combination of historical memory, cultural heritage, and ecological preservation within the city of Amritsar.
