Nueva York
New York City was founded in 1624 as New Amsterdam by Dutch settlers and came under British control in 1664, when it was renamed in honor of the Duke of York. It quickly grew into a major commercial and strategic center. Between the 19th and early 20th centuries, millions of immigrants entered the United States through Ellis Island, shaping the city's rich multicultural identity. New York served as the first U.S. capital from 1785 to 1790 and played a central role in the nation's political, economic, and cultural development. Today, it is a global hub for finance, arts, media, fashion, and international diplomacy, hosting the United Nations and influencing the world from its iconic five boroughs.

Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island
The Statue of Liberty, inaugurated in 1886 on Liberty Island, is a global symbol of freedom and democracy. Designed by FrƩdƩric Auguste Bartholdi with an internal structure by Gustave Eiffel, it depicts Libertas holding a torch and a tablet inscribed with the date of U.S. independence. Nearby stands Ellis Island, the main entry point for over 12 million immigrants between 1892 and 1954, now a museum preserving the immigration history of the United States.
