Hotel Museo Spa Casa Santo Domingo

Hotel Museo Spa Casa Santo Domingo, in Antigua Guatemala, occupies part of the ruins of the former Convent and Church of Santo Domingo, one of the largest religious complexes in the region during the 17th century. After the devastating Santa Marta earthquake of 1773, the site was left in ruins, and in 1989 a restoration and rescue project began, eventually becoming today's hotel-museum-spa. It now combines colonial-style accommodations, wellness facilities, and a major cultural offer with six permanent museums and two art galleries. Its significance lies in the blend of historic architecture, archaeological heritage, and modern hospitality within a city recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
