Miami Beach, Florida
Miami Beach, located in southeastern Florida, is a dynamic city shaped by history, culture, and global influence. Long before European contact, the area was inhabited by the Tequesta Native American tribe, who relied on fishing and coastal trade. In the 16th century, Spanish explorers claimed the region, though permanent settlement remained sparse for centuries. Control later shifted between Spain and Britain until Florida was transferred to the United States in 1821. Miami's modern growth began in the late 19th century with the arrival of Henry Flagler's railroad in 1896, the same year the city was officially incorporated. Throughout the 20th century, Miami expanded rapidly, fueled by waves of immigration from the Caribbean and Latin America, particularly after the Cuban Revolution of 1959. This migration shaped its language, cuisine, and culture. Today, Miami stands out for its Art Deco heritage, its role as an international hub for finance and tourism, and its rich multicultural character
