The Lincoln Monument
The Lincoln Memorial, located on Washington, D.C.'s National Mall, honors the sixteenth president of the United States. Dedicated in 1922, it features a grand neoclassical marble structure with 36 Doric columns, representing the states of the Union during Lincoln's presidency. Inside stands a monumental seated statue of Abraham Lincoln, calm and reflective, flanked by inscriptions of his most famous speeches, symbolizing national unity, freedom, and the enduring pursuit of equality.
