The Korean Demilitarized Zone is a buffer strip established after the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War. Imjingak Park

Imjingak Park, located in Paju near the Korean Demilitarized Zone, is an important historical site dedicated to the memory of the Korean War and the hope for reunification. Opened in 1972, it preserves monuments, exhibitions, and symbolic structures connected to the division of the Korean Peninsula. Surrounded by the natural scenery of the Imjin River, the park combines green areas, trees, and habitats for various local species. Its ecological environment highlights the importance of protecting nature in a region deeply shaped by history, conflict, and the pursuit of peace.
