Its ecosystem supports orchids, mosses, ferns, and more than 500 bird species, alongside deer, gibbons, and wild boars. Doi Inthanon National Park

Doi Inthanon National Park is located in Chiang Mai, not Krabi, and protects Thailand's highest mountain, rising to 2,565 meters above sea level. Established as a national park in 1954, it was named in honor of King Inthawichayanon, who championed forest conservation in northern Thailand. The landscape features mist-covered mountains, dramatic waterfalls, cloud forests, pine woodlands, and scenic nature trails. Its ecosystem changes with elevation, creating diverse habitats and remarkable biodiversity. The flora includes wild orchids, ferns, mosses, rhododendrons, and evergreen montane forests adapted to cool, humid conditions. Wildlife includes barking deer, civets, flying squirrels, serows, and more than 500 bird species, making the park one of Southeast Asia's premier birdwatching destinations. The area is also home to Karen and Hmong communities whose cultural traditions remain closely connected to the surrounding environment.

Waterfall Wachirathan

The Wachirathan Waterfall, located within Doi Inthanon National Park, is one of northern Thailand's most spectacular waterfalls. Fed by mountain streams descending from the country's highest peak, its powerful cascade plunges over ancient granite cliffs surrounded by lush cloud forest. Constant moisture supports mosses, ferns, wild orchids, and diverse bird and insect species. Since the national park was established in 1972, the waterfall has become an important symbol of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable nature tourism in Thailand.
