Glacier Bay National Park

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, located in southeastern Alaska, is a vast wilderness of ice, fjords, and rich wildlife. It contains over a thousand glaciers, including massive tidewater glaciers that flow from snow-covered mountains into the sea. Its cold waters are home to humpback whales, orcas, seals, and sea otters, while brown bears and mountain goats roam the shores and valleys. The park preserves largely untouched ecosystems and an important Tlingit cultural heritage. Glacier Bay is a landscape in constant change, where advancing and retreating ice reveal the dynamic story of Earth's natural history.

Glacier Bay National Park

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, located in southeastern Alaska, is one of the world's most remarkable glacial landscapes. Its vast fjords, rugged mountains, and more than a thousand glaciers tell a powerful geological story shaped by repeated ice ages. The area was originally inhabited by the Tlingit people, particularly the Huna and Chookaneidi clans, whose history is deeply connected to the land. In 1794, Captain George Vancouver explored the region when ice filled much of the bay. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the dramatic retreat of glaciers transformed Glacier Bay into a natural laboratory for studying glacial dynamics and climate change. Designated a National Monument in 1925 and a National Park in 1980, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park protects extraordinary wildlife, including humpback whales, brown bears, seals, and bald eagles, while preserving its rich natural and cultural heritage.

Alaska Yacht Charters

Alaska Yacht Charters operates within Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, providing private yacht expeditions through one of America's most protected natural reserves. Rooted in Alaska's maritime heritage and the rise of eco-conscious travel in the late 20th century, the company blends refined yachting with strict environmental stewardship. Its vessels navigate dramatic fjords, tidewater glaciers, and rich wildlife habitats, fully complying with conservation rules established after Glacier Bay became a national park in 1980.
