Maya Bay Beach
Maya Bay is renowned for its turquoise waters and dramatic limestone cliffs. It gained worldwide recognition after appearing in the film The Beach in 2000. Located in the Andaman Sea, the bay belongs to a protected coastal ecosystem. Its flora includes tropical vegetation, mangroves, and salt-tolerant plants. The fauna features reef fish, blacktip reef sharks, crustaceans, and seabirds. Coral reefs and seagrass beds support rich biodiversity, while conservation measures have helped restore marine habitats and improve ecological balance.

Maya Bay Beach

Maya Bay Beach
Maya Bay is one of the most iconic beaches in the Andaman Sea, located on Koh Phi Phi Leh Island in Krabi Province. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs covered with lush tropical jungle, the bay is famous for its turquoise waters, white sand, and vibrant coral reefs. It gained worldwide recognition after appearing in the film The Beach. However, mass tourism caused serious environmental damage, leading authorities to close the bay from 2018 to 2022 for ecological recovery. Its flora includes coconut palms, mangroves, and coastal tropical vegetation. The fauna features colorful tropical fish, blacktip reef sharks, crustaceans, mollusks, seabirds, and both hard and soft corals. Today, strict conservation measures help protect and restore this fragile marine ecosystem for future generations.

Maya Bay Beach
Maya Bay, located within the Phi Phi Islands of Krabi, is one of the most celebrated coastal landscapes in Thailand. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and crystal-clear turquoise waters, the bay remained relatively secluded for centuries, preserving much of its natural character. International recognition increased dramatically after the release of The Beach in 2000, bringing large numbers of visitors. To safeguard the environment, authorities later introduced seasonal closures and conservation measures aimed at ecosystem recovery. The bay's ecosystem includes white sand beaches, coral reefs, shallow lagoons, and tropical coastal forests. Its flora features coconut palms, pandanus trees, mangroves, and other salt tolerant vegetation. The fauna is equally diverse, including tropical reef fish, blacktip reef sharks, mollusks, crustaceans, and numerous seabirds. Coral formations provide shelter and breeding grounds for many marine species, supporting biodiversity throughout the area. Today, Maya Bay is recognized as a significant example of environmental restoration and sustainable tourism within the Andaman Sea region.

Pi Leh Bay
Pi Leh Bay is a turquoise lagoon located on Phi Phi Leh in the Andaman Sea. Surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs shaped over millions of years, it is among Krabi's most remarkable natural landmarks. Historically, the area was connected to local fishing communities and traditional maritime routes. Its ecosystem supports tropical fish, coral formations, mollusks, and other marine species. Today, environmental protection measures help preserve its crystal clear waters, rich biodiversity, and fragile ecological balance while managing the impacts of increasing tourism and recreational activities.
