Mykonos
Mykonos is a renowned island in the Cyclades archipelago, inhabited since ancient times and linked to Greek mythology. Its landscape blends dry hills, crystal clear beaches, and traditional whitewashed houses adapted to the Mediterranean climate. Local flora includes olive trees, fig trees, thyme, bougainvillea, and aromatic herbs resistant to strong winds. Its fauna features seabirds, lizards, and small coastal mammals. The Cycladic ecosystem depends on preserving water resources, dunes, and marine habitats that sustain fish populations and Aegean biodiversity.

Mykonos
Mykonos is one of the most iconic islands of the Cyclades archipelago in the Aegean Sea. Inhabited since ancient times, it became an important commercial center during the Minoan and Hellenic civilizations because of its strategic location near the sacred island of Delos. Its whitewashed houses, windmills, and narrow alleys reflect traditional Cycladic architecture designed to withstand intense sunlight and strong meltemi winds. The island's ecosystem combines rocky landscapes, dry hills, and small beaches with crystal clear waters. Its flora includes wild thyme, rosemary, prickly pears, and drought resistant olive trees. Local fauna features seabirds, gulls, falcons, and Mediterranean reptiles. Nearby waters are home to fish, octopuses, and sea urchins. Despite modern tourism development, Mykonos still preserves fishing and agricultural traditions that remain an essential part of its cultural and ecological heritage.

Monastery of Tourliani
The Monastery of Tourliani, located near the northern coast and the village of Ano Mera in Mykonos, is one of the most important religious landmarks in the Cyclades. Founded in 1542 by monks from Paros, the monastery preserves traditional Cycladic architecture with whitewashed walls, an elegant marble bell tower, and a richly carved Baroque iconostasis imported from Florence. Its surroundings reflect Mykonos' dry Mediterranean ecosystem, characterized by shrubs, aromatic herbs, olive trees, and wildlife adapted to the windy Aegean climate. Beyond its spiritual and historical significance, the monastery represents the cultural bond between nature, maritime tradition, and Greek Orthodox devotion.
