Around 1,200 wild plant species have been recorded within the city limits. Lindenhof
Lindenhof is a historic hill and park located in ZĆ¼rich's old town, Switzerland, overlooking the Limmat River and the city center. In Roman times it was the fortified settlement of Turicum, later used as a Carolingian palace site. Today it is a peaceful public square known for outdoor chess tables and shaded seating under lime, chestnut, and maple trees. Its urban ecosystem supports birds, pollinating insects, and drought tolerant plants. Lindenhof remains an important cultural landmark symbolizing Zurich's history, leisure, and community life and is popular with residents and visitors alike.
