Wildlife is abundant: howler and capuchin monkeys, sloths, toucans, scarlet macaws, coatis, and in deeper forest areas, jaguars and tapirs. The resort operates within a conservation-focused environment near Corcovado National Park, globally recognized for its exceptional biodiversity and ecological importance.

Copa del Ćrbol Resort, located in Drake Bay on the Osa Peninsula in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, sits within one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, near Corcovado National Park. The area is a rare combination of primary rainforest, mangroves, pristine beaches, and marine habitats. Its animal biodiversity includes white-faced capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, coatis, toucans, scarlet macaws, frogs, and countless insect species. Offshore waters are home to dolphins, sea turtles, and vibrant tropical fish. The flora is equally rich, featuring towering rainforest trees such as ceiba and almendro, along with orchids, bromeliads, and dense ferns forming a lush canopy. Historically, Drake Bay is believed to be named after the 16th-century explorer Sir Francis Drake, reflecting its long maritime significance. Today, the resort operates as an eco-lodge within a protected tropical reserve of about 70 acres, emphasizing conservation, sustainable tourism, and harmony with the surrounding rainforest and marine ecosystems.

The Osa Peninsula, especially Drake Bay, is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, where sport fishing blends with a rich tropical marine environment. Its Pacific waters host species such as mahi-mahi, sailfish, tuna, and snapper, shaped by ocean currents and nearby reserves like CaƱo Island.
