The park encompasses tropical rainforests, mangroves, rivers, and pristine beaches, hosting an extraordinary variety of life. Jaguars, tapirs, howler monkeys, scarlet macaws, and hundreds of bird species inhabit its vast landscapes. Humpback Whales
Humpback whales visit Corcovado National Park every year from July to October and from December to April, migrating from the cold northern and southern waters to reproduce and give birth in Costa Rica's warm Pacific seas. In Corcovado, especially around Drake Bay and Sirena, visitors can enjoy responsible whale-watching tours to witness their spectacular breaching and songs. This nutrient-rich marine ecosystem provides abundant food for both calves and adults. Protecting these waters is essential to preserve ecological balance and ensure the survival of one of the ocean's most majestic species.
