The Hotel Riu Guanacaste, located on Matapalo Beach, is an all-inclusive resort opened in 2009 as RIU's first property in Costa Rica. Following a recent full refurbishment, the hotel completely modernized its 1,041 rooms, public spaces, restaurants, and outdoor areas, adopting a design inspired by Costa Rica's biodiversity. The renovation introduced redesigned pools, swim-up bars, expanded international dining options, and new private-pool swim-up rooms. The refurbishment included rooms, common areas, restaurants, bars, and outdoor spaces, featuring interior designs inspired by local nature. The resort now offers more than one thousand fully redesigned rooms, upgraded pools, landscaped gardens, and an expanded international dining experience. New features include private pool "swim-up" rooms and enhanced family-friendly recreational areas, reinforcing its status as one of the most significant tourist complexes in Guanacaste.
