Tortuga Lodge is located in the heart of Tortuguero National Park, Limón province, Costa Rica. It is accessible only by boat or plane, usually from Guápiles via the scenic Tortuguero canals surrounded by lush rainforest. The area is an ecological paradise, home to incredible biodiversity, including howler monkeys, jaguars, sloths, green turtles, and hundreds of bird and reptile species. Its canals and wetlands allow sightings of crocodiles, fish, and amphibians, while vegetation includes tropical trees, bromeliads, and orchids. Tourist attractions include turtle nesting during season, guided kayaking along the canals, rainforest hikes, and visits to Tortuguero village with its museum and local crafts.
