Along Australia's coasts—especially the Great Barrier Reef—thrives a rich and essential marine habitat. Corals flourish in warm, clear, shallow waters, forming reef structures that support thousands of species. Among the most common coral types are hard corals such as Acropora, Porites, and Montipora, which build the reef's foundation, and soft corals including Sarcophyton and Sinularia, which add movement, texture, and vibrant hues to this dynamic ecosystem.

Park Hyatt Sydney

Park Hyatt Sydney rises directly across from the iconic Sydney Opera House and beneath the Harbour Bridge, blending contemporary luxury with understated sophistication. Its rooms, crafted with natural materials and spacious terraces, offer sweeping views of the world-famous harbor. The hotel is known for its locally inspired cuisine and attentive, personalized service that reflects the city's warm hospitality.

Sydney, established in 1788 as Australia's first European settlement, developed around its natural harbor, originally inhabited by the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. Throughout the 19th century, maritime trade and the gold rush stimulated rapid expansion, turning the city into a major Pacific port. By the late 20th century, Sydney had evolved into a multicultural hub, symbolized by the 1973 opening of the Sydney Opera House, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its layered history is especially evident in The Rocks, located steps from the hotel, where cobblestone lanes, restored warehouses, and artisan markets preserve the colonial origins that shaped the vibrant, modern metropolis.

Koalas

The koala is an iconic Australian marsupial found in eucalyptus forests along the eastern coast. Its evolutionary lineage traces back to ancient tree-dwelling marsupials. Biologically, it has a slow metabolism and survives almost entirely on eucalyptus leaves, aided by an exceptionally long digestive tract. Koalas are solitary, territorial animals that spend most of the day resting to conserve energy. Joeys first develop inside the mother's pouch, later riding on her back. Populations have declined due to habitat loss, drought, and bushfires, making conservation efforts increasingly important.
