Maison Colbert, Meliá

The Maison Colbert Meliá Collection is a luxury boutique hotel located in Paris's Latin Quarter, just steps from Notre Dame Cathedral and the Seine River. Originally built as a private mansion in the 16th century, the property reflects the city's layered history and has been recognized for its architectural heritage. Over time, it served cultural roles, including housing a Russian library in the 20th century, and was once home to philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, reinforcing its intellectual legacy. Following an extensive renovation completed in 2021, the building joined the exclusive Meliá Collection, blending historic charm with modern comfort. Its interior design pays tribute to Spanish painter Joaquín Sorolla, incorporating artistic themes and Mediterranean light throughout. Today, Maison Colbert embodies the refined Parisian "art de vivre," offering an intimate experience rooted in history, culture, and contemporary elegance.

Venus of Milo

The Venus de Milo, housed in the Louvre Museum, is one of the most famous sculptures of antiquity. Created around 130 BC and attributed to the sculptor Alexandros of Antioch, it represents Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, carved in marble. Discovered in 1820 on the island of Milos, Greece, it was soon brought to France. Its missing arms have enhanced its mystery, making it a universal symbol of classical art.
