Its ecosystem features artificial lagoons, recreated reef environments, and over 250 marine species living in open habitats. These include sharks, rays, tropical fish, and sea turtles supported by conservation programs. The surrounding flora reflects a tropical coastal environment with salt-tolerant plants, mangroves, and palm vegetation. The landscape is designed to replicate Caribbean marine ecosystems, including coral reef-like structures and shallow lagoon waters. The Royal at Atlantis

The Royal at Atlantis, located on Paradise Island near Nassau, Bahamas, is part of the Atlantis resort complex and sits within one of the most diverse marine ecosystems in the Atlantic. The surrounding environment includes coral reefs, turquoise coastal waters, sandy beaches, and tropical vegetation such as palms, sea grapes, and flowering hibiscus. These habitats support a wide variety of marine life, including reef fish, sea turtles, rays, and coastal seabirds. Inside the resort, the "The Dig" marine exhibit recreates an ancient Atlantean ruin while housing species such as sharks, groupers, and tropical fish in controlled lagoons. The broader ecosystem reflects a balance between conservation and high-intensity tourism, with significant efforts in marine education and wildlife display. However, the area also faces ecological pressure due to development and heavy visitor activity, making it a unique intersection of natural Caribbean biodiversity and resort-based marine environments.

Fort Fincastle

Fort Fincastle, built in 1793 atop Bennet's Hill in Nassau, Bahamas, was commissioned by Governor Lord Dunmore to defend the harbor from pirate attacks. Constructed from local limestone, it is shaped like a paddle steamer and offers panoramic views of the city and sea. The surrounding ecosystem features limestone hills with tropical vegetation such as palms, coastal shrubs, and mangroves in lower areas. Local fauna includes seabirds, lizards, and small coastal crustaceans inhabiting nearby shoreline environments.
