Salto Fino Waterfall
Salto Fino Waterfall, located in the mountains of Baracoa, is the highest waterfall in the Caribbean, dropping about 305 meters. It originates from Arroyo del Infierno, a tributary of the Quibiján River within the Quibiján Duaba Yunque Ecological Reserve. Rather than a single vertical fall, it consists of a series of steep cascades. First documented in 1966 by scientist Antonio Núñez Jiménez, it remained largely inaccessible until expeditions in 1996. Surrounded by the humid forests of the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa range, its remoteness has preserved a rich, almost untouched ecosystem, making it a symbol of Cuba's pristine natural heritage.
