Mystique Viñales Central is a boutique hotel in the heart of Viñales. It has 23 rooms, and tourism sources describe it as preserving the town's heritage character; it also appears to have opened in 2017. Its central location makes it easy to walk to the main square, the parish church, and nearby cultural sites, while its terraces overlook the valley. Its broader setting is the Viñales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage karst landscape known for its mogotes, caves, traditional tobacco, and endemic biodiversity. UNESCO notes local flora such as Microcycas calocoma and a notable bird and mollusk fauna, making the area a living rural-cultural landscape where nature, history, and farming traditions remain closely linked.
Mural of Prehistory
The Mural of Prehistory, located in Viñales, Cuba, was created in 1961 by artist Leovigildo González Morillo under Korda's guidance. This massive mural, 120 meters high and 160 meters long, depicts the evolution of humanity, from primitive organisms to Cuba's early inhabitants. Painted on the slopes of the Sierra de los Órganos, it blends art and geography, becoming a cultural and tourist symbol of the Viñales Valley, highlighting the interaction between history, nature, and human creativity.
