Hotel El Convento
Hotel El Convento, located in the heart of Le贸n, Nicaragua, stands on the site of the former San Francisco Convent, founded in 1639 by the Franciscan order. After religious orders were expelled in the 19th century, the building served multiple purposes and suffered damage from conflicts and natural disasters. In 1995, a careful restoration began, honoring its original colonial design. Reopened in 2000, the hotel blends historic heritage, religious art, and modern comfort, preserving an important cultural landmark of Le贸n.

Hotel El Convento is one of Le贸n, Nicaragua's most iconic hotels. It stands on the former site of the San Francisco Convent, the city's oldest convent, founded in 1639 by Fray Pedro de Z煤帽iga. After religious orders were expelled in the 19th century, the convent fell into disuse and was eventually demolished. In the late 20th century, the property was carefully rebuilt and transformed into a hotel, faithfully reflecting its original colonial architecture.
Today, the hotel features serene courtyards, lush gardens, and historic details that recall its religious past, seamlessly blended with modern comforts. Located just steps from Le贸n Cathedral, it offers an authentic setting to experience the city's rich history and colonial heritage.
Telica Volcano
Telica Volcano is located about 30 km from Le贸n, Nicaragua, within the Maribios Volcanic Range, rising roughly 1,060 meters above sea level. It is among the country's most active volcanoes, with eruptions recorded since colonial times. Its multi-crater structure releases gases, ash, and occasional explosions. Historically, Telica has shaped local life through its persistent activity and stands today as a defining symbol of western Nicaragua's volcanic landscape.
