Gran Hotel Miramar GL

The Gran Hotel Miramar GL in Málaga is a historic luxury landmark on Spain's Costa del Sol. It opened in 1926 under King Alfonso XIII as the Hotel Príncipe de Asturias, designed by architect Fernando Guerrero Strachan to symbolize the city's emerging tourism prestige. The building blends Neo-Moorish and Belle Époque styles facing the Mediterranean Sea. During the Spanish Civil War it served as a military hospital and later functioned as the city's courthouse until 2007. After decades of alternative uses, it was carefully restored and reopened as a five-star grand luxury hotel in 2017, regaining its original elegance with restored courtyards, marble details, and historic architectural features.

Gran Hotel Miramar GL

The Gran Hotel Miramar GL, located in front of La Malagueta beach in Málaga, is one of the city's most iconic historic landmarks. It was inaugurated in 1926 as the Hotel Príncipe de Asturias by King Alfonso XIII and designed by architect Fernando Guerrero Strachan. The building showcases a blend of Andalusian regionalist, neo-Mudéjar, and early modernist styles, reflecting the grandeur of the Belle Époque architectural period. During the Spanish Civil War, it was repurposed as a field hospital, and later served as a courthouse, which interrupted its original hotel function for decades. After years of institutional use and partial abandonment, the building underwent an extensive restoration project. It finally reopened in 2016 as the Gran Hotel Miramar GL, a luxury five-star establishment. Today, it stands as a symbol of Málaga's historical preservation, combining classic palace-style elegance with modern luxury amenities, landscaped gardens, spa facilities, and Mediterranean views.

Picasso Museum Malaga

The Picasso Museum Málaga opened in 2003 in the Buenavista Palace, a 16th century Renaissance building in Málaga's historic center. It was created to fulfill Pablo Picasso's wish to have his work displayed in his birthplace. The collection was made possible through donations from his family, especially Christine and Bernard Ruiz Picasso. It includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, and ceramics that trace the artist's evolution from his early academic studies to Cubism and his later works. The museum reflects the strong connection between Picasso and Málaga.
