Le Grand H么tel des Thermes
The Grand H么tel des Thermes is located in Saint-Malo, Brittany, France, facing the Sillon beach, not Mont Saint-Michel. Its origins date back to 1880, when it was built during the rise of seaside tourism and the popularity of therapeutic sea bathing along the French Atlantic coast. Designed in the elegant Belle 脡poque style, the hotel reflected the luxury and health focused culture of the period. Throughout the 20th century, it experienced major changes: the economic crisis of 1929 reduced its visitors, it was requisitioned during World War II, and later remained closed for several years. In the 1960s it was revived as a thalassotherapy center, focusing on marine-based wellness treatments. From the 1980s onward, it was extensively renovated and transformed into a five-star luxury hotel and spa. Today, it stands as an iconic destination for wellness tourism and marine therapy in Brittany.

Saint-Malo
The walled city of Saint-Malo, in Brittany, France, has a rich maritime history. Founded in the Middle Ages, it became a stronghold of privateers such as Robert Surcouf, who defended and enriched the city. Its granite walls protected the harbor from invasions and storms. During World War II, much of it was destroyed and later carefully rebuilt. Today, its historic center, beaches, and dramatic tides reflect a cultural legacy tied to trade, navigation, and resilience against the sea.
