Union Geiranger Hotel
The Hotel Union Geiranger is a historic hotel overlooking the Geiranger Fjord, surrounded by dramatic mountains and waterfalls. It was built in 1891 as a wooden structure inspired by Swiss and traditional dragon styles typical of Norway. In 1899, it was acquired by the Mjelva family, who have managed it for generations while promoting regional tourism. Throughout the 20th century, the hotel was expanded and modernized, and the original wooden structure was removed in 1979. Today, it blends heritage with modern comfort, featuring a spa, vintage car museum, and contemporary facilities.

Union Geiranger Hotel
Hotel Union Geiranger is one of Norway's most iconic historic hotels, located overlooking the spectacular Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was originally built in 1891 as a wooden structure inspired by dragon style and Swiss chalet architecture, reflecting Norway's national romantic period. In 1899, the Mjelva family purchased the hotel, beginning a long standing hospitality tradition that continues today into its fourth generation. Throughout the 20th century, the hotel underwent several expansions and reconstructions; in 1979, the remaining parts of the original wooden building were removed to accommodate modern facilities. Today, the hotel blends heritage with contemporary comfort, offering a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, and a vintage car museum. Surrounded by dramatic mountains and waterfalls, the property mirrors the development of tourism in Geiranger while preserving its strong cultural identity and family legacy.

SkageflƄ farm
The SkageflƄ farm is a historic mountain settlement perched on a narrow ledge about 250 m above the Geirangerfjord. Inhabited since the Middle Ages and recorded in the 17th century, it was once among the richest farms, sustaining goats, cattle, and hay production. Harsh isolation and frequent landslides led to its abandonment in 1916. Surrounded by waterfalls and steep cliffs, it lies within a humid alpine ecosystem where grasslands, birdlife, and hardy vegetation illustrate both human resilience and natural adaptation to extreme environments.
