Camiguin Island
White Island Camiguin is a dazzling volcanic sandbar located off the coast of Mambajao on Camiguin Island, Philippines. Formed by natural ocean currents and sediment deposition, its shape changes slightly with the tides. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, it supports coral reefs inhabited by tropical fish, sea stars, and numerous marine invertebrates. Its coastal ecosystem includes seagrass beds that provide habitat for marine life and feeding grounds for seabirds. Its rich fauna includes colorful tropical fish, sea stars, sea urchins, mollusks, and occasionally sea turtles that feed nearby. Coastal birds also use the sandbar as a resting place during seasonal migrations.
