Dayman Hot Springs is a thermal resort located in Salto, Uruguay, along the Daymán River. Its origin dates back to 1957, when drilling revealed the Guaranà Aquifer. The ecosystem combines thermal waters, gardens, and surrounding grassland landscapes. Flora includes ceibo trees, willows, eucalyptus, and native prairie grasses. Wildlife features birds such as lapwings, ovenbirds, and herons, along with insects and small mammals. The natural setting blends with mineral-rich thermal waters containing iodine and iron, forming a unique environment of relaxation, biodiversity, and ecological balance in northwestern Uruguay.

Dayman Hot Springs is a thermal resort located in the Salto Department of Uruguay, on the banks of the Daymán River and fed by the Guaranà Aquifer. Its origin dates back to 1957, when oil exploration drilling accidentally discovered hot underground waters. Tourism development expanded between the 1940s and 1970s, turning it into one of the country's main thermal destinations. The surrounding ecosystem includes riverbanks, grasslands, and native vegetation adapted to humid soils. Flora features willows, ceibos, and natural pastures, while local fauna includes birds such as herons, teals, and southern lapwings, along with small mammals. The environment integrates with the river, creating a natural setting for relaxation, recreation, and ecological balance.

Dayman Hot Springs
Dayman Hot Springs is located a few kilometers from the city of Salto in northwestern Uruguay, along the Daymán River and within the Guaranà Aquifer system. Its origin dates back to 1957, when oil exploration drilling unexpectedly revealed deep geothermal waters, turning the area into an important tourist destination. The thermal water emerges at around 46 °C and is rich in minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, iodine, and fluorine, widely used for therapeutic bathing and relaxation. The surrounding ecosystem blends Pampas grasslands with riparian vegetation along the river, including species such as ceibo trees, willows, reeds, and native grasses. Local fauna includes birds like herons, horneros, southern lapwings, and cardinals, as well as small mammals and amphibians adapted to humid environments. Although tourism has significantly modified the landscape, natural elements of Uruguay's litoral ecosystem remain present. It is a place where geothermal resources, biodiversity, and human development coexist.
AcuamanĂa Water Park
AcuamanĂa Water Park, located in Termas del Daymán, Salto, Uruguay, opened in 1996 as the first thermal water park in South America. It is built on a 15,000 m² site integrated into the region's natural hot spring environment, fed by the GuaranĂ Aquifer. Its history is closely tied to the development of thermal tourism in the area, created to complement traditional hot springs with modern recreational attractions. The park features slides, lazy rivers, and thermal pools, combining leisure and relaxation for families. Over time, AcuamanĂa became a major tourist landmark, attracting visitors from across the Mercosur region year-round.
