Mikumi Park
Mikumi National Park, established in 1964 in the Morogoro Region, protects more than 3,200 kmĀ² and forms part of the vast Selous Nyerere ecosystem. Its open savannas, miombo woodlands, floodplains, and rivers support remarkable biodiversity. The park is home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous antelope species, along with over 400 bird species. Its diverse flora, dominated by acacias and baobabs, provides food and shelter, making Mikumi one of Tanzania's most representative and easily accessible wildlife parks.
