Jiufen Street

Jiufen Old Street, located in Ruifang District in northeastern Taiwan, is one of the country's most iconic historical destinations. Its origins date back to the Qing Dynasty, when it was a small mountain village, but it flourished after gold was discovered in 1893 and during the Japanese colonial period. The narrow stone paved alleys, stairways, and traditional wooden buildings preserve the atmosphere of the early twentieth century. Today, the street is lined with teahouses, local food stalls, souvenir shops, and artisan stores celebrating Taiwanese culture. Scenic viewpoints provide breathtaking panoramas of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains, making Jiufen Old Street a memorable cultural and historical experience for every visitor.

Jiufen Street

Jiufen Old Street, located in Ruifang District in northeastern Taiwan, is one of the island's most famous historical and cultural attractions. Its development began in the late nineteenth century after the discovery of gold transformed Jiufen into a prosperous mining settlement during the Japanese colonial era. The narrow stone paved streets, steep stairways, and well preserved wooden buildings still reflect the charm of that remarkable period. Today, the street is lined with traditional teahouses, family owned restaurants, artisan shops, and food stalls serving local specialties such as taro balls, rice cakes, and premium mountain tea. The glowing red lanterns hanging above the winding alleys create an unforgettable atmosphere, particularly during the evening hours. Scenic viewpoints offer magnificent panoramas of the surrounding mountains and the Pacific Ocean, making Jiufen Old Street a destination where visitors can experience Taiwan's rich mining heritage, authentic cuisine, traditional architecture, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural scenery in a single visit.

Mar Yin-Yang

The Yin-Yang Sea, located near Shuinandong in Ruifang District, northern Taiwan, is one of the island's most remarkable coastal landscapes. Its name comes from the striking contrast between the deep blue ocean and the yellow orange waters created by iron rich minerals flowing from former mining areas. This natural phenomenon highlights the interaction between geology and the sea, producing an ever changing visual display. The coastal ecosystem supports fish, crustaceans, marine algae, and seabirds adapted to these unique conditions, making the site an important geological, ecological, and tourism destination admired by visitors throughout Taiwan.
