Jiufen Old Street, located in Ruifang, Taiwan, began as a thriving mining settlement during the late nineteenth century gold rush and the Japanese colonial era. Today, it preserves narrow lanes, traditional tea houses, and a remarkable cultural heritage. Surrounded by lush mountains, it forms part of a humid subtropical ecosystem rich in ferns, bamboo, wild orchids, and native trees.
