Colonia del Sacramento Lighthouse, located in the historic quarter of Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, is one of the most iconic landmarks of the city's port and river navigation on the Río de la Plata. It was built in 1857 on the ruins of the former San Francisco convent and later restored after a fire in 1976. Its structure combines stone and brick, reaching about 26 meters in height. From the top, it offers panoramic views of the UNESCO World Heritage historic district and the river landscape that connects Uruguay with Argentina, making it a major tourist attraction destination.
