Bariloche and the Andean Patagonia

Bariloche and the Andean Patagonia
Bariloche, in Argentina's Andean Patagonia, began as an indigenous territory and later became a meeting point for native communities, missionaries, and European settlers. Officially founded in the late nineteenth century, it developed on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, framed by forests, peaks, and snow. Its ecosystem includes coihue and lenga trees, arrayƔn groves, deer, foxes, huemuls, birds of prey, and trout. Cold winters, mild summers, and abundant water support a delicate biodiversity, now safeguarded by national parks and responsible tourism within a mountain landscape of great natural heritage value.
