Hiroshima, globally known for the events of 1945, became a symbol of peace, renewal, and human resilience. Its landscape includes urban areas, rivers, mountains, and the coastal ecosystems of the Seto Inland Sea, supporting diverse wildlife such as water birds, fish, crustaceans, and native plants. Miyajima, famous for Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic torii gate, has a deep religious tradition connected to Shinto beliefs. The island preserves forests of maple, cedar, and oak trees, along with rich biodiversity including Japanese deer and marine species. Mount Misen protects important natural habitats and offers a unique ecological environment. Hiroshima Castle
The Hiroshima Castle, also known as Carp Castle, was originally built in 1589 by feudal lord MÅri Terumoto during Japan's Sengoku period. Located in central Hiroshima, it was destroyed by the atomic bombing in 1945 and later reconstructed in 1958 as a symbol of peace and resilience. The surrounding area features moats, gardens, and remnants of urban river ecosystems supporting birds and native vegetation. Today it serves as a museum showcasing samurai culture and regional history, reflecting both historical heritage and ecological recovery in Hiroshima in modern-day Japan site important landmark.
