Established in 2007 as Awasi's first project, its concept derives from the Quechua word "wasi," meaning "home," emphasizing personalized hospitality and deep connection with the landscape. Built using adobe, stone, and wood, its design is inspired by the ancient pre-Inca village of Tulor, blending ancestral techniques with modern comfort. The lodge features only 12 suites and stands on land historically used by travelers and herders, continuing its legacy as a desert refuge. Awasi is distinguished by its sustainable philosophy, respect for Atacameño culture, and tailor-made experiences, offering private guides and customized excursions to explore volcanoes, salt flats, and remarkable archaeological sites in the surrounding region.
