Lake Matheson
Lake Matheson, near Fox Glacier on New Zealand's South Island West Coast, was formed about 14,000 years ago as glaciers retreated after the last Ice Age. Its ecosystem features ancient temperate podocarp forests, tree ferns, peat wetlands, and moss covered vegetation.
