Napo Wildlife Center
The Napo Wildlife Center, located within Yasuní National Park, is an eco-lodge established in 2003 by the Añangu Kichwa community. It emerged as a sustainable alternative to oil extraction, helping protect one of Earth's most biodiverse regions. Built beside Añangucocha Lagoon, it supports scientific research and responsible tourism. Revenue funds local education and healthcare. The project is globally recognized for successfully combining environmental conservation, indigenous culture, and community-led development in the Ecuadorian Amazon region today.

Napo Wildlife Center
The Napo Wildlife Center is a renowned ecolodge located in Ecuador's Amazon, within Yasuní National Park, one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. Established by the Añangu Kichwa indigenous community, it protects over 21,000 hectares of pristine rainforest through sustainable tourism. Opened in 2004, it stands as a successful example of conservation linked with community development, replacing hunting activities with ecotourism. Situated beside Añangucocha Lake, the lodge hosts remarkable wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and caimans, offering immersive nature experiences. Its design blends comfort with environmental respect, allowing visitors to explore a unique ecosystem while supporting long-term conservation efforts.

Napo Wildlife Center
The Napo Wildlife Center is a community managed ecolodge located in the heart of Yasuní National Park in the Ecuadorian Amazon, and it reflects a sustainable tourism model led by the Kichwa Añangu Indigenous community. Reached by river and canoe, it places visitors in a humid rainforest landscape of lagoons, forest trails, and exceptional wildlife, while keeping human impact low. More than a lodge, it functions as a conservation and local development initiative: tourism helps protect the forest, strengthen education, and support community livelihoods. In Yasuní's historical context, the center represents a shift away from extractive pressure toward a closer balance between nature and culture. Its importance lies in combining hospitality, ancestral knowledge, and the defense of one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.

Saladeros de loros
The Saladeros de loros of Yasuní National Park are clay licks found along riverbanks and hills where hundreds of parrots and macaws gather to consume essential minerals. This behavior, observed for centuries by Indigenous groups such as the Huaorani, helps neutralize toxins from seeds and aids digestion. Historically, these sites have signaled extraordinary biodiversity, attracting species like Amazons, parakeets, and large macaws. Yasuní, established in 1979 and designated a Biosphere Reserve in 1989, protects these licks, which are vital for bird health as well as for scientific research and responsible ecotourism in the Amazon region.
