Smart Hotel Montevideo
Smart Hotel Montevideo is a modern, practical hotel in downtown Montevideo, located on the corner of Soriano and José Germán Araújo, just steps from Plaza Independencia, 18 de Julio Avenue, and the riverside. Its spacious, bright rooms and contemporary style make it a convenient base for walking to Ciudad Vieja, the Solís Theatre, Palacio Salvo, and other nearby landmarks. The hotel sits in one of the city's most historic areas. Plaza Independencia was laid out in the 19th century on the site of Montevideo's old Citadel, marking the shift from a fortified colonial town to a modern capital. The Puerta de la Ciudadela preserves the memory of that defensive complex and remains a symbolic gateway between the historic old city and today's urban center.

Museo Andes 1972
The Museo Andes 1972, located in Montevideo's Old City, is a museum devoted to preserving the memory of the 1972 Andes plane crash. Opened in 2013 by founder and curator Jörg P. A. Thomsen, it evolved from commemorative exhibitions held in 2012. The museum honors the 29 victims and the 16 survivors, emphasizing values such as resilience and solidarity. Its collection features original objects, documents, photographs, and aircraft remains displayed across multiple levels, creating an educational and reflective experience about one of the most remarkable survival stories of the twentieth century.
