Palacio Astoreca Hotel
The Palacio Astoreca Hotel is a landmark boutique hotel in Valparaíso, located in Cerro Alegre within a restored Victorian-style mansion originally built in the 1920s. For much of the 20th century, the building served as a private residence and later hosted institutional uses before undergoing a major restoration between 2009 and 2012. This careful renovation preserved its historic architecture while converting it into Chile's first "palace hotel." It officially opened in 2012, offering 23 luxury rooms, a spa, a restaurant, and cultural spaces that blend modern comfort with heritage design. Positioned near Paseo Yugoslavo, it sits at the heart of Valparaíso's UNESCO-recognized historic district and forms part of the city's key tourist circuit.

Palacio Astoreca Hotel
The Hotel Palacio Astoreca, located in Cerro Alegre in Valparaíso, Chile, is a refined boutique hotel that opened in 2012 after the careful restoration of a 1920s Victorian mansion. Originally a private residence, the building later served various purposes before falling into disrepair. A major heritage rehabilitation project transformed it into a luxury hotel while preserving its historic architectural character and adding a contemporary adjacent structure that harmonizes with the original palace. Situated in the historic quarter of Valparaíso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it lies near the Palacio Baburizza and the scenic Yugoslavian Promenade. The hotel features 23 rooms, a spa, a restaurant, a wine cellar, and a library. Its design blends European elegance with local coastal identity, offering panoramic views of the bay and the city's colorful hills. Today, it stands as one of Valparaíso's most iconic examples of adaptive reuse and upscale hospitality.

Valparaíso Elevators
The Valparaíso Elevators are a historic system of funicular railways that connect the city's flat downtown area with its steep hillside neighborhoods. They were built in the late 19th century due to the port city's extreme topography, making vertical transportation faster and easier for residents. The first one, Concepción Elevator, opened in 1883. At their peak, around 30 operated across the city, mainly between 1880 and 1920. Today, several are protected as National Historic Monuments due to their cultural and engineering value. They remain an iconic symbol of Valparaíso's identity and urban adaptation to its mountainous landscape.
