The Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plazq Hotel, located on Plaza Independencia in Montevideo's Old City, originated as the historic Victoria Plaza Hotel, inaugurated in 1952 as the city's leading luxury accommodation. Designed by the Argentine firm SEPRA, it remained Montevideo's only five-star hotel for decades and hosted prominent figures. In the 1990s, a modern tower was added, and in 1999 the property became part of the Radisson chain. Today, it blends historic architecture with contemporary amenities, including a casino, convention center, and panoramic city views.

The Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel stands on Plaza Independencia in Montevideo's Old City. Its origins trace back to the Victoria Plaza Hotel, inaugurated in 1952 and designed by the Argentine firm SEPRA, becoming for decades the city's leading five-star hotel. In the late twentieth century, a major expansion added a modern 25-story tower rising about 115 meters. In 1999, management shifted to the Radisson chain, strengthening its international profile. Part of the original structure was later converted into office space. Today, the complex blends historical significance with contemporary amenities, including a casino, convention center, and panoramic views over the harbor and urban skyline.

The Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel, at 759 Plaza Independencia, stands on the edge of Ciudad Vieja and downtown Montevideo, facing one of the city's most important historic squares. Its story began as the Victoria Plaza Hotel, opened in 1952 and designed by the Argentine studio SEPRA; for many years it was Montevideo's only five-star hotel. In 1996, a new adjoining tower was planned, helping transform the property into a larger and more modern urban complex. Today the hotel has 25 floors, about 232 rooms, a casino, a spa, an indoor pool, and extensive event facilities, along with views toward the bay and Plaza Independencia. Because of its height and landmark status, it remains one of Montevideo's most recognizable buildings, linking mid-century elegance, later modernization, and the city's ongoing role as a business and cultural center.
Port Market
The Port Market, located in the historic Ciudad Vieja of Montevideo, is one of Uruguay's most iconic culinary and cultural landmarks. Opened in 1868, its iron structure was designed by European engineers, reflecting 19th-century industrial influence. Originally a food supply market, it gradually evolved into a space devoted to traditional grilling, especially the famous Uruguayan barbecue. Its corridors preserve an old-world atmosphere filled with distinctive aromas and sounds. Today, it serves as a vibrant meeting place for both locals and visitors, maintaining Montevideo's rich culinary traditions and social heritage.
