Telouet
Telouet, located in Morocco's High Atlas Mountains, was an important commercial and political center controlling the ancient caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara Desert. The Kasbah of Telouet, residence of the influential Glaoui family during the 19th and 20th centuries, preserves magnificent halls decorated with zellige mosaics, carved cedar wood, ornate plasterwork, and painted ceilings. Although parts of the complex remain in ruins, they still reveal its former grandeur. The surrounding mountain ecosystem includes juniper trees, almond orchards, wild thyme, and wildlife such as foxes, eagles, lizards, and diverse bird species.
